Ignacio Garijo Garde is a Senior Sales Advisor at TBAS with a successful career improving operating performance for leading financial institutions.
Most recently, as EVO-Chief Information Officer, Risk Management for Santander Holdings USA, Ignacio led all risk related projects including the US launch and management of the BCBS 239, Enterprise Risk, and Risk Identification and Assessment Programs. He managed a $ 140 million budget, and had overall responsibility for credit and data management, operational risk, model development, model risk management, and project control.
Previously as USA Chief Audit Executive, Managing Director for Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA), Ignacio led due diligence procedures in the creation of BBVA Compass, the twenty-fifth largest bank valued in assets in the US. He then directed the seamless post-acquisition integration of five different audit teams into one organization. In addition, he reduced regulatory risk, and achieved substantial improvements in the bank?s regulatory rating.
Prior to that, as COO, BBVA NY and BBVA Securities, Ignacio merged the branches of BBV and Argenteria in New York, creating the business infrastructure for the development of the Global Markets Division of BBVA Group which doubled the amount of assets.
