Alex Golbin, Global Head of Risk Assessments, IHS Markit

Alex Golbin is the Global Head of Assessment Services for KY3P(Know Your Third Party) IHS Markit, the first centralized third party risk management data hub. Based in New York, he leads the firm’s Vendor Risk Assessment utility, which helps banks improve risk posture, meet evolving regulatory requirements and reduce costs.

With more than 20 years of expertise in IT transformation and financial services, Alex joins IHS Markit from BNY Mellon, where he most recently served as Global Head of Technology for Third Party Governance. He was recruited by BNY Mellon in 1998, overseeing a progressive array of responsibilities in IT management, including cost optimization, quality assurance, process improvement, and risk mitigation.

 As a recognized expert in vendor engagement across financial services, Alex is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and regularly publishes thought leadership. He holds an MBA in Finance from the NYU Stern School of Business and a BS in Computer Science from the NYU Tandon School of Engineering. Alex is also certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP).
